GENERAL INFORMATION

The Audiological Resource Association's 2010 Winter Conference will be held at the Doubletree Guest Suites in Charlotte, NC. 
On Friday, Ruth Bentler, Ph.D. will present "What's really new with hearing aid technology?"

A luncheon will be provided on Friday.

Friday evening ARA will host heavy hor'derves and drinks for all members and their families.

Saturday morning, Robert Fifer, Ph.D. will present "Hot Topics in Reimbursement and Coding".

Sunday we will conclude with our business meeting and Kevin St. Clergy, M.S. will present "Marketing your audiological practice".

The Doubletree Guest Suites in the South Park area of Charlotte, NC is an upscale hotel located close to shopping and restaurants.  Hotel phone number is (704) 364-2400.  Room reservations must be made by January 19, 2010 to receive the reduced rate.  Be sure to identify yourself as an ARA member.

This program has been applied for continuing education from the National Institute for Hearing Instrument Studies, the American Academy of Audiology, and the state of North Carolina to offer CEUs for this activity.  This program has also applied for a maximum 12 Tier 1 continuing education hours toward the American Board of Audiology recertification requirements.  The program is worth a maximum of 1.2 CEUs.  AAA approval does not imply endorsement of course content or clinical procedures.


ARA Pre-Conference Training on Hearing Loops

Abstract:
Wireless Hearing Solutions by inLOOP will host an 8 hour trainig on induction loops February 18th at the Double tree Hotel in Charlotte, NC.  This training will provide a detailed look at induction loops, their benefits to the user and clinic, uses, and techniques for installation.  Training will include lecture and hands on portions.  There will be hand outs and CDs for the participants.  For those interested in certification as a loop installer, there will be a test and track for internship.

Objectives:
At the end of the trainng the participants will:
1.  Know how incoporating loops into their office can reduce returns and increase patient satisfaction.
2.  Explain the use of an induction loop and how it benefits the user.
3.  Engineer a basic loop.

Summary:
This training on induction loops will include the latest in technology updates and updates on loop initiatives from around the world.  Wireless Hearing Solutions participated in the first International Conference on Looping in Switzerland last fall.  We will share initiative updates from New Mexico to Wisconsin to SC and each areas brochures and materials.

Trainer:
Scott Peyton is a 15 year veteran in the Army Corps of Engineers.  During this time, he built, advised, and facilitated major construction projects techniques throughout Europe and the United States.  He holds a Masters degree in Business from Webster University, and several undergraduate degrees from Drury College.  Scott has worked as the Executive Director of a local deaf and hard of hearing non-profit service organization and is proficient in the design and installation of induction loops systems.  He has spent thousands of hours facilitating training sessions in topics ranging from psychodynamics to advanced project management.
